The Romance of Brahms

Sunday March 24th at 2pm at The Trail United Church - 1300 PIne Ave, Trail

La Cafamore presents piano trios of Brahms and Dvorak. Join pianist Nina Horvath, violinist Carolyn Cameron and cellist Maria Wang as we perform some of the most romantic works of the classical repertoire.

Carolyn Cameron is a founding member of La Cafamore and has performed and managed the group for over 10 years. She received her musical training on piano & violin in Saskatoon and has used her knowledge as a performer, teacher, adjudicator and composer. She has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, the Regina Symphony and the Symphony of the Kootenays. Carolyn lives in Rossland.

Maria Wang - Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Maria began her musical training on the piano and later on the cello at age 13. After pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at West Virginia University, Maria moved to Victoria with her family and completed a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance at the University of Victoria in 2014, studying under the tutelage of Pamela Highbaugh-Aloni, the cellist of the renown Lafayette String Quartet. Since then, Maria has been actively teaching at local music programs, including Sooke Music Academy Orchestra, Windstar Music Academy, and Sooke Harmony Project. She also enjoys teaching privately on the cello and beginner piano in Victoria.

Nina Horvath Raised in Rossland, BC, Nina completed her Teacher’s ARCT before going on to further studies studies at the University of Victoria, University of Denver and University of British Columbia.
